Hi There
I just purchased a 2005 Honda VTX 1300. I would like to get a kit for it to trike it. I don't have 8,000-10,000 to get a real trike kit.
I have read from past post positive and negative things about the voyager.
I know some may say its not a trike because it has 4 wheels, but hey times are changing...look at the goldwing quad... not a trike but looks
sharp and different.. Anyway
Is there any current members that have the Voyager or Tow-Pac IT2 Insta Trike and what is there feed back?
How about riding two up would this be a problem?
Has anyone seen the TRIAX Trike Conversion?
Thanks Joe |

Big Joe:
I don't commnet much, read the circuit everyday..but my thoughts on your request on "Not a real trike conversion". I was a Voyager distributor, note: WAS...They work fine, but are sort of butt ugly..personal opinion...costs were 4000 to 5700 for everything..including matching paint jobs...Now the tow paks..never heard too much good about them...slight mistake and you can damamge the bike big time...And the Triax kit? It looks good...wish I'd of had this and save big $$$$$$..not only looks good, but suspension looks like suspension, not an add on from the '50's....Only problem with Triax/Voyager....is low centers..have to be a bit careful there (service stations are the biggest pain!) I installed Voyagers...repaired towpaks and now, out of business riding a Tri-Wing/Yamaha trike...But theis is all opinion, just thought you'd like some feed back...Now...How do I talk the "Boss" into a second bike so I can go try a Triax kit? So far I have had my Voyager kit for 3 months doing ok so far after a few adjustments. Have not taken it for very far about 125 miles one way
on the interstate did find. In the city you really feel the bumps....

My recommendation is wait until you can afford "a real trike kit" or make payments. I am not sure about the prices because I bought my Suzuki C90 Lehman Trike turnkey but some of the axles with wheels and fenders like Mystery and Frankenstein conversions might be cheaper and still be a "real trike."
PS: I think the Honda VTX's are the best looking motorcycles Honda ever made. Too bad they changed them this year. _________________ Will Wright

"07 bought new in March '10. It had 13 miles on it. Most if not all put on by me test driving it. (Would post a picture but can't figure out how.)
Figured out another way: http://www.scrcsmokymountain512.com/uploads/Trike_small_921.png _________________ Will Wright

Looks a little familiar. I have the white/silver paint job. I bought mine in '07 and have close to 16K on it. I'm currently dealing with a charging system problem, but other than that it has been a highly reliable trike. I've added a few things (aux tank, raked trees, riser/tach, etc.) to tweek it for my personal needs. I bought a Suzuki C90 service manual and do my own work when possible. If you run into any issues, give me a yell. |
